Where Does Seer Store Settings on Windows?
Seer config folder, plugins, document overrides and log paths on Windows.
Last updated
Seer moved settings out of the registry in version 4.3 into a config folder under LocalAppData. Default plugins live inside that folder. Logs and crash dumps go to temp.
Desktop and Store builds layer document overrides on top. A config file in Documents can redirect behavior per distribution. Portable builds read and write the app dir but still use temp for logs.
Where Seer stores this, by platform
%LocalAppData%\Corey\Seer
Config root since version 4.3 with default plugins inside. Document overrides in Documents per distribution. Logs and dumps under temp Seer folder. Portable uses the app dir but keeps temp logs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Seer?
Copy the Corey Seer folder with Seer closed. Plugins ship inside it by default. Restoring means putting the folder back before launch. Keep document overrides too when preview hotkeys were customized.
Is there a Mac version?
There is none. Seer is Windows 10 and 11 only. Comparisons with the Mac preview tool describe a different product. The paths here cover Desktop, Store and portable distributions.
