Where Does Sharik Put Received Files?

Sharik LAN sharing received files in Downloads and app cache behavior.

Last updated

Sharik sends over the local network with no account: the sender shares, the receiver fetches through the app or browser. Received files land in the normal Downloads area of the receiving device, not in a Sharik vault.

The app itself keeps almost nothing: recent items, theme and language in app data. Once the transfer completes, the file is an ordinary download to move, rename or back up with the file manager. Failed transfers leave partial files worth deleting by hand.

Where Sharik stores this, by platform

Android
Download folder (received files; app holds only settings)

Accept in Sharik, then find the file in Downloads via any file manager. Sending from text or clipboard creates a file on receipt. Clear app data freely: downloads already live outside it.

iOS
Files app Downloads (received via Sharik share page)

Receive through the in-app browser flow, then save into Files. The sandbox keeps no separate copy afterward. Re-fetch from the sender if the transfer was interrupted.

Frequently asked questions

where are Sharik received files stored

In the device Downloads folder (Android) or Files Downloads (iOS) as regular files. Sharik does not keep a second copy, so organize them from there like any download.

does Sharik keep a transfer history with files

Only a lightweight recent list in app data, without the bytes. The files themselves are whatever landed in Downloads. Copy them elsewhere if they matter.
