Where Does the Smartbroker App Store Data?

SMARTBROKER+ keeps session and depot cache in private storage on Android and iOS under distinct IDs.

Last updated

SMARTBROKER+ uses platform specific IDs from the same vendor, with an Android form and a longer iOS form carrying an extra suffix. Private databases on each platform hold login session, watchlist cache and downloaded statements. The depot itself stays server side, so local files cache rather than own the holdings.

On iOS the bundle sits inside a per install GUID container that changes with reinstalls. Before wiping, export tax papers as PDF from inside the app, since folder copies miss the encrypted session stores. After setup, sign back in to repopulate holdings and documents from the servers.

Where Smartbroker stores this, by platform

Android
/data/data/de.smartbroker

Private session and cache for the verified Android package. Depot syncs from servers; local holds tokens and cached documents.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

GUID container for bundle de.smartbroker.phoenix (App Store ID 1643142640). Re login restores depot and documents.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my depot on reinstalling Smartbroker?

No. Holdings and documents sync from Smartbroker servers after login. Local data holds tokens and cached PDFs. Reinstall and sign back in to repopulate.

Why do Smartbroker IDs differ by platform?

Android uses de.smartbroker while iOS uses de.smartbroker.phoenix. Same vendor, different suffix. Check system app info for the exact string before quoting paths.
