Where Are Songs of Conquest Save Files Located?
Where Songs of Conquest keeps Savegames under Lavapotion on PC, and what else travels with them.
Last updated
Songs of Conquest saves at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Lavapotion\SongsOfConquest\Savegames. The Lavapotion studio folder plus the spaceless SongsOfConquest name hide it from every intuitive search.
Once found, the layout is ordinary Unity: saves in one folder, config beside it, logs nearby. Copy the whole Lavapotion tree with the game closed and campaigns, skirmishes, and settings all move. Linux runs the identical tail through Proton. The map editor shares the folder. Hotseat needs no extras.
Where Songs of Conquest stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Lavapotion\SongsOfConquest\Savegames
Campaign and skirmish saves here; Config beside it holds graphics prefs. The folder name has no spaces, so copy rather than retype. GOG and Steam builds share this tree.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/867210/pfx/.../Lavapotion/SongsOfConquest/Savegames
Same Lavapotion tail inside the Proton prefix for app 867210. Copy the Windows contents straight across. If the folder looks empty, confirm the game ran under Proton at least once.
Frequently asked questions
how do i back up songs of conquest saves
Copy %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Lavapotion\SongsOfConquest\Savegames to the same path on the new PC with the game closed. Campaign and skirmish saves travel together. Steam Cloud may mirror them, but the folder copy is certain and keeps map seeds intact.
why is there no songs of conquest folder in appdata
Search AppData for Lavapotion, the developer name Unity uses for the folder. The store title appears nowhere in that segment (note SongsOfConquest has no spaces). Paste the full path into Explorer to skip the hunt.
where is the songs of conquest config file
In the Config folder beside Savegames under the same Lavapotion tree (graphics and audio prefs). Edit while closed. Deleting it resets options without touching a single campaign, which fixes most launch failures cheaply.
