Where Are Split Fiction Save Files Located?
Where Split Fiction keeps its single SaveData.Split on PC, identical across Steam, EA App and Epic.
Last updated
Split Fiction keeps its save in %LOCALAPPDATA%\SplitFiction, with the run itself in SaveData.Split inside Saved\SaveGames. Every PC storefront (Steam, EA App, Epic) reads the same folder, which is unusually convenient: no per launcher variants to reconcile.
The single slot is the catch. One campaign per machine means a second playthrough overwrites the first unless you archive the file between runs. The Friend Pass guest needs no save of their own, since progress belongs to the host copy alone.
Where Split Fiction stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SplitFiction\Saved\SaveGames\SaveData.Split
Paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\SplitFiction into Explorer or the Run dialog. Back up SaveData.Split (or the whole folder, settings included) with the game closed. Same path regardless of storefront.
Frequently asked questions
How do two different pairs share one PC?
There is one active slot, so rename or move SaveData.Split aside before starting a second campaign. Keep each partner save in its own labeled folder and swap them back when resuming. The game only ever reads the live file.
How do I move my Split Fiction progress to a new PC?
Copy the whole SplitFiction folder with the game closed. It holds the save plus settings, so one copy migrates everything. All three storefronts read the same path, which makes cross launcher moves trivial.
