Where Does The Lounge Store Config and User Data on Linux?
The Lounge keeps config.js and per user storage in ~/.thelounge on the host it runs on.
Last updated
The Lounge stores everything under ~/.thelounge for the user that runs it: config.js for the server itself, plus users/, storage/, and logs/ trees per account. Docker and YunoHost layouts remap the same content into volumes. Upload storage and thumbnail cache grow inside the same tree, so watch disk on busy servers.
Back up config.js with the users tree together. One without the other restores half a bouncer. Stop the service before copying SQLite files to avoid half written state.

Frequently asked questions
How do I migrate The Lounge servers?
Install the same major version, stop it, copy ~/.thelounge over, fix ownership, and start. Reconnect each network once and confirm backlog loads.
Where are The Lounge chat logs?
In per user storage as SQLite message data plus text logs where enabled. Copy the users tree whole. Export important channels separately for plain text archives.
