Where Does Topaz Photo AI Store Models and Presets?
Topaz Photo keeps AI models in ProgramData with presets beside them, while edited photos save where you choose.
Last updated
Topaz Photo downloads gigabytes of AI models on first use. Those live in ProgramData on Windows and shared Application Support on Mac, not beside your photos. Presets sit in a sibling folder you can open from Help then Open Presets Folder.
Your images never enter either tree. Exports go where File then Save points. When disk space vanishes after installing Topaz, the models folder is the culprit. Move or prune it through a reinstall rather than deleting files by hand. Old major versions orphan whole model sets, so remove them fully.
Where Topaz Photo AI stores this, by platform
C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo
Models plus Presets subfolders inside. Video AI sibling uses Topaz Video AI\models under the same parent. Share presets by copying files from the Presets folder to another machine.
~/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Photo
Same interior as Windows with Models and Presets. Open the exact path from Help and Open Presets Folder, since version names shift the parent folder name.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share Topaz Photo presets with another computer?
Open Help then Open Presets Folder, copy the preset files to the same folder on the second machine, and relaunch. Models download on demand there, so only presets need moving.
Why is Topaz Photo using so much disk space?
Downloaded AI models accumulate in ProgramData or shared Application Support across updates. Uninstall old major versions fully to clear orphaned model sets, then let the current build fetch what it needs.
