Where Does TrainerRoad Store Workouts and Plans?

TrainerRoad keeps workouts, Calendar plans, and downloaded sessions in its private app storage on Android and iOS, synced to your online Calendar account.

Last updated

TrainerRoad is account first: plans, completed workouts, and analytics live on your online Calendar. The phone app caches sessions and downloads for offline training in its private storage, invisible to file browsers.

That split decides every file question. Account data survives reinstalls and moves platforms freely. Anything recorded but not yet synced does not, so open the app on WiFi after key sessions and confirm uploads before wiping a phone.

Where TrainerRoad stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.trainerroad.android.production/files

Private app storage for cached workouts and downloads. Manage through the app, not the file manager. Sync pending rides before reinstalling.

iOS
TrainerRoad app storage (via Files app or iTunes sharing)

Same account sync model as Android. Offline sessions cache in app storage until uploaded. Confirm Calendar shows rides before device changes.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my TrainerRoad workouts stored?

Open the app and check downloaded workouts or offline settings, since cached sessions live in private storage no file manager shows. Reinstalling wipes pending uploads, so sync first. The website Calendar is the source of truth for completed rides.

Can I export TrainerRoad rides to Strava?

Yes for outdoor rides recorded in the app, which export as .fit files for Strava, Garmin, and others. Sync connections in settings automate the handoff. Indoor structured workouts analyze best inside TrainerRoad itself.
