Where Does Universal Gcode Sender Store Settings?
Where UGS Platform keeps its user directory with macros, firmware and settings on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Last updated
Universal Gcode Sender keeps state in a NetBeans style user directory called ugsplatform. Macros, window layout and firmware settings all live under this one root. The exact parent follows each OS convention for app data.
Deleting this folder is the standard fix after a bad upgrade. The app recreates it with defaults on next start. That makes the folder both the backup target and the reset button, so copy it before wiping. Pendant and joystick mappings ride along in the same userdir, which is why upgrades sometimes scramble them.
Where Universal Gcode Sender stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\ugsplatform
NetBeans userdir with Cache and config beneath it. Delete the ugsplatform parent to force a clean rebuild after broken upgrades.
~/Library/Application Support/ugsplatform
Same ugsplatform userdir under Application Support. Reach it through Go to Folder since Library stays hidden.
~/.cache/ugsplatform
Same ugsplatform userdir under the XDG cache home. Wiping it resets macros and layout together, so export first.
Frequently asked questions
UGS broke after an upgrade. How do I reset it?
Delete the ugsplatform folder for your OS and restart. The app rebuilds defaults on next launch. Export macros first when possible, since the wipe takes them with the broken state.
Where are my UGS macros stored?
Inside the same ugsplatform user directory the app rebuilds. There is no separate dot folder path documented for current Platform builds. Back up the whole userdir before upgrades to keep macros safe.
