Where Does Wizarr Store Its Database?

Where Wizarr keeps its database and invitation data in Docker.

Last updated

Wizarr keeps everything in one /data mount: wizarr.db SQLite database with users, invites and server links. Postgres mode is optional for busy setups via DATABASE_URL.

The volume must persist or recreating the container wipes invitations. Server API keys for Plex and Jellyfin live inside the same database, so one backup covers both identity and config.

Where Wizarr stores this, by platform

Linux
<wizarr data>/wizarr.db

Single data mount with wizarr.db SQLite database. Persist it across recreates or invites vanish. Fix host ownership to UID 1000 on permission errors. Postgres optional via DATABASE_URL.

Frequently asked questions

How do I migrate Wizarr to a new host?

Back up the /data mount (wizarr.db via sqlite backup) plus server API keys stored in settings. Reattach the same volume on the new host and invites plus users survive intact.

Wizarr cannot write its database. Why?

Fix ownership to the container UID (1000 by default) on the host data dir. Permission denied on /data is the top install failure, and chown resolves it.
