Where Are Aftershock: Coastline Saves Located?

Aftershock: Coastline saves in LocalLow\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock_ Coastline\SaveData, where the colon in the title becomes an underscore.

Last updated

Aftershock: Coastline is a freeware Unity horror shooter, and its save folder shows what happens when a title has a colon in it. Windows does not allow that character in folder names, so the game uses Aftershock_ Coastline with an underscore and a space. The registry key keeps the colon: HKCU\Software\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock: Coastline.

Save slots sit in SaveData. Steam Cloud is not enabled, so the folder is the only copy. The game left early access in November 2025, and the current build still uses the same LocalLow tree.

Where Aftershock: Coastline stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock_ Coastline\SaveData

Save slots live in SaveData. The folder replaces the title's colon with an underscore. Settings are in the registry under HKCU\Software\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock: Coastline.

Frequently asked questions

Where are Aftershock: Coastline saves on PC?

In %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock_ Coastline\SaveData. The folder name uses an underscore where the title has a colon. AppData is hidden by default, so paste the path rather than browsing.

Why can't I find the Aftershock: Coastline folder?

Windows strips the colon from the folder name. Search for Aftershock_ Coastline, with the underscore, or browse to LocalLow and look under Alex Rassloff.

Does Aftershock: Coastline use Steam Cloud?

No. Steam Cloud is not enabled, so the LocalLow folder is the only copy. Copy it before a reinstall or a move to another PC. A fresh Windows install loses it.

Where are the game's settings stored?

In the registry at HKCU\Software\Alex Rassloff\Aftershock: Coastline. The key keeps the colon that the save folder cannot use. Export it before a Windows reinstall if you want to keep the settings.
