Last updated

The House of Tesla: Definitive Edition is a Unity game, and it stores its data in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Blue Brain Games\The House of Tesla. Inside are Profiles and Backup folders. The first holds the active profile, and the second is the game's own copy of recent data, which is useful when a puzzle state gets stuck.

The game came to PC in September 2025 and reached iOS and Android on October 20, 2026. The desktop versions share the same folder layout under different roots: Application Support on macOS and .config/unity3d on Linux. Steam Cloud is listed, so the profile should follow you between desktop machines.

Where The House of Tesla: Definitive Edition stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Blue Brain Games\The House of Tesla

Contains Profiles and Backup. Copy both before testing a risky puzzle reset or moving to another PC.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Blue Brain Games/The House of Tesla

Same Profiles and Backup layout as Windows, under the macOS application support root.

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/Blue Brain Games/The House of Tesla

Unity's Linux user data root. The Profiles and Backup subfolders keep the same names.

Frequently asked questions

Where are The House of Tesla saves on PC?

In %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Blue Brain Games\The House of Tesla. The Profiles folder holds the active profile and Backup holds the game's own recent copy.

What is the Backup folder for?

It sits beside Profiles and holds the game's own recent copy of profile data. If a save fails to load, try the files in Backup before starting the chapter over.

Where are the saves on Mac and Linux?

macOS uses ~/Library/Application Support/Blue Brain Games/The House of Tesla, and Linux uses ~/.config/unity3d/Blue Brain Games/The House of Tesla. Profiles and Backup are inside both.

Do the mobile versions share saves with the PC?

The iOS and Android release is a separate build with its own app container. There is no documented cross-save with the desktop version, so do not expect a phone to pick up a PC profile.
