Where Does Airtable Store Bases and Cache?

Where Airtable desktop keeps cache on Windows and macOS, while bases live in cloud workspaces. See the folder table below.

Last updated

Airtable is base cloud with a desktop shell. Your workspaces, tables, and attachments live in the Airtable account. The computer holds login, preferences, and cached covers.

Paths follow Electron norms with Airtable in the name. Exact subfolders shift with releases. When a base loads forever, stale cache is the usual cause. Clear cache, rejoin from the dashboard, and sign back in. Your tables will still be there waiting with history intact. When in doubt, verify paths inside the app before trusting a remembered folder.

Where Airtable stores this, by platform

Windows
%appdata%\Airtable

Login and cached covers live here. Clear Cache folders to fix stuck loads while keeping login. Delete the whole folder closed for a full reset.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Airtable

Same layout under Application Support with Airtable in the name. Bases stay in cloud workspaces. Use Go to Folder since Library hides.

Frequently asked questions

How do I fix Airtable stuck on loading?

Clear the Airtable cache folders under Roaming or Application Support, then sign in again. Bases, views, and attachments live in your Airtable cloud workspaces. Only login and cached previews vanish locally, which rebuild on next base open.

Does clearing Airtable cache delete my bases?

No. Airtable streams bases from your workspaces. The desktop wrapper caches covers and login for speed. Deleting cache logs out at worst but never deletes a base. Reopen from the dashboard link after clearing.
