Last updated
Amaze stores bookmarks, history, and server entries in its private sandbox. Shared storage holds your files, settings do not follow them.
Root users can browse the sandbox directly, everyone else uses export. Server passwords may not export depending on version, so keep those credentials somewhere safe regardless.
Where Amaze stores this, by platform
/data/data/com.amaze.filemanager
Bookmarks, history, and server entries. Needs root to browse. Export bookmarks for migration.
Frequently asked questions
How do I migrate Amaze to a new phone?
Export bookmarks inside Amaze and copy the file over. Sandbox copies need root and break across installs. Re-add root and SMB servers by hand.
Do SMB servers transfer with backup?
Shortcuts and SMB or FTP servers live in the sandbox database. The export covers bookmarks, servers need re-entry unless the backup includes them.
Can Amaze open Android/data folders?
Only with root or Shizuku plus the right role. Stock scoped storage hides other sandboxes from every manager including Amaze.
