Where Does Analogue Pocket Store Saves and Games?
Analogue Pocket keeps openFPGA cores, games, Memories save states and screenshots on a FAT or exFAT microSD card.
Last updated
Analogue Pocket stores almost everything on its microSD card. Firmware updates, openFPGA cores, games loaded through cores, Memories save states, screenshots and Library images all live there. The card must be FAT or exFAT, up to 1TB in size.
Cores follow a standardized per-core directory layout on the card, so exact subfolders vary by core author. Cartridge saves stay on the cartridge itself until you make a Memory state. Quit the game from the menu before removing a cartridge, or the save can vanish without warning.
Where Analogue Pocket stores this, by platform
MicroSD card root (Assets, Cores, Games, Memories)
Cores, games, Memories states and screenshots live here. Windows assigns a drive letter. Copy the whole card with Pocket powered off. Keep FAT or exFAT format.
MicroSD card root (Assets, Cores, Games, Memories)
Same card contents. The card mounts under /Volumes. Use a card reader and copy the full card before updates. Eject cleanly to avoid corrupting states.
MicroSD card root (Assets, Cores, Games, Memories)
Same card contents. The card mounts under /media or /run/media. Copy the whole card with the device off. Do not reformat to ext4; Pocket expects FAT or exFAT.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up everything on my Pocket?
Power off fully, remove the microSD card, and copy its full contents to a folder on your PC. One copy preserves cores, games, Memories states and screenshots together. Do this before firmware updates.
Where do save states go?
Use Memories in the main menu to create one. The state stores with the game name, system and timestamp. You can keep up to 128 memories for cartridges and 128 per openFPGA core.
