Where Does AquaMail Store Accounts and Backups?
AquaMail backs up accounts plus app settings from the Settings Backup and Restore screen on Android devices.
Last updated
AquaMail keeps accounts and mail in app-private storage on Android. The portable copy is the backup file you create in Settings under Backup and Restore. It bundles accounts plus app settings with an optional password.
Server mail resyncs on its own for IMAP and Exchange. Device-only POP3 mail needs the backup. Scheduled backups in the app cover that gap. Copy backup files off the phone so a dead device does not take them with it.
Where AquaMail stores this, by platform
Settings Backup and Restore (app-private mail storage)

App-private storage (backup via in-app export)
Accounts and settings in app-private storage. Use the in-app backup flow and move the file via Files or cloud. Server mail resyncs after reinstall.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move AquaMail to a new phone?
Open Settings, Backup and Restore, and tap Backup with an optional password. Copy the backup file off the device. Restore it on the new phone from the same screen.
Does the backup include my messages?
Yes for POP3 when enabled in the backup options. IMAP and Exchange mail stays on the server and resyncs. POP3 mail lives only on the device, so include it in backups.
