Where Does Arturia Store Resources and Presets?

Arturia instruments share one Resources folder set in Software Center. Defaults on Mac and Windows, moving it and the db.db3 fix.

Last updated

Every Arturia instrument and effect draws from a single shared Resources folder: system files, graphics, samples, presets, playlists and preferences together. The Arturia Software Center chooses it on first launch and shows it under Preferences > Folders. Plugin binaries (.vst/.au/.aax) live in system plugin folders regardless and never move with it.

That folder balloons with V Collection installs, so external SSDs are the norm. Move it through ASC and files transfer automatically; never drag it by hand. Vanished presets after an update mean the db.db3 index in Presets went stale: delete that one file and reopen to rebuild.

Where Arturia stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\ProgramData\Arturia

Default Resources root plus Presets/db.db3 index inside. Hidden by default: paste the path into Explorer's address bar. VST folders relocate separately in ASC Preferences > Folders.

macOS
/Library/Arturia

System-level Library, not the user one. Same Resources plus Presets/db.db3 layout. Grant ASC Full Disk Access before moves, and symlink manually only as a last resort.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Arturia libraries to another drive?

Use the Move function in Arturia Software Center > Preferences > Folders. It transfers Resources and updates pointers itself. Avoid drives mounted as folders, and delete the old copy only after instruments load cleanly.

Arturia presets disappeared after updating, what now?

Delete the db.db3 file in the Presets folder above and reopen the instrument. The preset database reindexes from the Resources tree. Leave the surrounding XML and settings files untouched.
