Where Does Audirvana Store Its Library Database?
Audirvana keeps its AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite file in AppData on Windows and Application Support on Mac.
Last updated
Audirvana scans your music folders but stores metadata, playlists, and favorites in its own SQLite database. Your audio files stay where they are. The database file is what you back up to keep play history and edits.
On Windows the file lives under AppData Local Audirvana. On macOS use Finder Go to Library, then Application Support Audirvana. Linux headless installs split config in ~/.config/audirvana and data in ~/.local/share/audirvana.
Where Audirvana stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Local\Audirvana\Audirvana\AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite
Holds playlists and local favorites. Back it up before uninstall, since uninstall removes it. You can also relocate it from Local Library database path settings.
~/Library/Application Support/Audirvana/AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite
Same role as Windows. Finder Library is hidden by default. Show it from the Home folder view options, then copy the sqlite file while Audirvana is closed.
~/.local/share/audirvana
Database and logs. Config is separate at ~/.config/audirvana. Control the headless build through the Remote app, not by editing the database by hand.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Audirvana playlists?
Close Audirvana and copy AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite to safe storage, or use Local backup of favorites and playlists inside the app. Restore by putting the file back before launch.
Where are my actual music files?
Wherever you pointed Audirvana: local folders, USB drives, or NAS. The database only references them. Moving audio folders means rescanning paths in Audirvana settings.
