Where Does autobrr Store Its Config?
autobrr keeps config.toml and its database in one directory. Bare installs use ~/.config/autobrr; Docker mounts /config instead.
Last updated
autobrr centers on config.toml, which holds the host binding, log level, and database settings plus users and indexer definitions. The SQLite database (data/autobrr.db by default) sits in the same tree. Lose the directory and you lose filters, history, and credentials together.
Bare installs create ~/.config/autobrr on first start and can generate the file for you. Docker moves the whole tree to /config, so the host folder you mount there is the backup target. Database type can switch to Postgres, in which case config.toml still matters but the rows live outside the folder.
Where autobrr stores this, by platform
~/.config/autobrr
config.toml plus data/autobrr.db. Created on first start if missing. The systemd unit points here with --config, so match the service file when moving it.
/config (Docker volume)
Same tree as bare installs, mounted at /config. Back up the host folder behind the mount. Postgres users still back up this folder for config.toml even though rows live in the database.
Frequently asked questions
how do i migrate autobrr to a new server
Copy the whole config directory (config.toml plus the data folder with autobrr.db) with autobrr stopped. Restore to the same path and keep the host file ownership. Filters and indexers travel with the database.
can i change where autobrr stores its files
Pass --config with the directory you want, or set it in the systemd unit. Docker users just mount a different host folder at /config. The database path inside follows the config location.
