Where Does Azahar Store Saves and Config?

Azahar keeps NAND, saves, and config in a Citra style user dir. The per OS roots and the in-app opener.

Last updated

Azahar inherits Citra's user directory layout. One root holds config, nand, sdmc, sysdata, shaders, states, and logs, with 3DS title saves under the sysdata and sdmc trees by title ID. Config files (emu.ini and friends) sit in the config subfolder.

Roots follow the platform: %APPDATA%\Azahar on Windows, ~/.local/share/azahar with config in ~/.config/azahar on Linux, ~/Library/Application Support/Azahar on macOS. Skip memorizing and use the Open Azahar Folder menu entry. Migrating Citra or Lime3DS data works since Azahar reads those legacy dirs.

Where Azahar stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Azahar

User dir with user subfolder holding config, nand, sdmc. A user folder beside the exe overrides to portable mode. Confirm with the Open Azahar Folder menu entry.

Linux
~/.local/share/azahar

Data root; config in ~/.config/azahar. Flatpak remaps under ~/.var. Title saves in sysdata/00040000. Copy per title folders to migrate.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Azahar

Same internal tree in Application Support. Finder hides ~/Library, so use Go to Folder or the in-app opener.

Frequently asked questions

how do i move citra saves to azahar

Copy the title save folders from the Citra user dir into the matching Azahar tree, or point Azahar at the old folder. Azahar understands the legacy Citra and Lime3DS directories by design.

where is the azahar config file

emu.ini in the config subfolder of the user dir above. Edit while Azahar is closed. Delete it to regenerate defaults when settings break the app.
