Where Does BandLab Save Projects?

BandLab saves songs to free cloud storage by default, with mixdowns and stems downloadable to your device per track.

Last updated

BandLab is cloud first. Every project saves online to free song storage with unlimited multitrack revisions. There is no local project file on your phone. Uninstall the app and the songs wait in your Library on next login.

Local copies only exist as exports. Download mixdowns or individual stems per project for device storage or DAW handoff. Offline edits queue until you reconnect; saving itself needs internet. That trips up anyone recording on airplane mode expecting autosave to disk.

Where BandLab stores this, by platform

Android
BandLab cloud library (exports downloaded per project)

Projects sync across phone, web, and desktop through your account. Export mixdowns or stems from the project menu for local files. Reinstalls lose nothing saved to cloud.

iOS
BandLab cloud library (exports downloaded per project)

Same cloud model as Android. Unsaved offline takes vanish if the app is removed before syncing, so reconnect and confirm upload before wiping a device.

Frequently asked questions

Does BandLab store project files on my phone?

No. Projects live in BandLab cloud storage. What lands on device are exported audio files you download deliberately. Keep the app signed in so takes upload before you close it.

How do I move a BandLab song into another DAW?

Download the mixdown for a stereo file or each stem for multitrack editing. Stems import cleanly into desktop DAWs while preserving your arrangement.
