Where Are Beyond The Wire Save Files Located?
Beyond The Wire has no documented local save folder. How to find the Unreal config tree and confirm it by hand.
Last updated
No reference documents a Beyond The Wire save folder as of this writing. There is no PCGamingWiki page for it, and no guide names the LocalAppData folder with a source. Printing a literal path here would be guessing, so this post gives the search pattern instead of a fake answer.
The game runs on Unreal Engine, so settings almost certainly live under LocalAppData in a Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor tree. Change a graphics option, sort LocalAppData by date, and the touched folder names itself. Server-side progression follows your account either way, so the local tree carries options at most.
Where Beyond The Wire stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\<Project>\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Pattern, not a verified literal: the middle folder name is unconfirmed (BeyondTheWire and BTWGame are candidates, but the Steam game dir name does not prove the AppData name). Search LocalAppData for Wire, BTW and Redstone after changing a setting to identify it.
<SteamLibrary>/steamapps/compatdata/1058650/pfx/
Steam Play prefix for app ID 1058650. The same LocalAppData search applies inside the prefix at drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local. Check Steam userdata/1058650 for cloud remnants as a secondary clue.
Frequently asked questions
Where are Beyond The Wire settings stored?
Most likely in a Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor tree under LocalAppData, following every other Unreal title from this publisher. The exact folder name is unconfirmed, so change a keybind, sort LocalAppData by modified date, and copy whichever folder updates.
Can I move my Beyond The Wire progress to a new PC?
Rank and unlocks follow your account on the servers, so signing in restores those. Copy the local config folder once identified to keep graphics and keybinds. Keep Steam Cloud enabled and the transfer may need no manual step at all.
Why does no guide list the folder?
Nobody has published a sourced Game data table for this title. Community knowledge centers on gameplay rather than file paths. Until someone documents the folder with evidence, treat every literal path online as unverified.
