Where Are Squad 44 Save Files Located?

Squad 44 keeps config in a PostScriptum Saved tree, keeping the old name after the rename. Windows path plus Proton.

Last updated

Squad 44 used to be called Post Scriptum, and the folders never got the memo. Steam, the install directory, the workshop content and LocalAppData all still use the old name. Searching for Squad44 on disk finds nothing; searching for PostScriptum finds everything.

Settings live in PostScriptum/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor, with community guides pointing at Input.ini there. The full Config suffix comes from community evidence rather than a complete wiki table, so confirm GameUserSettings.ini exists before scripting around it. Progress is online, so the tree carries options.

Where Squad 44 stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\PostScriptum\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Keeps the pre-rename name from December 2023. Install folder is postscriptum and workshop content sits under 736220 for the same reason. The Config tail follows community reports; verify GameUserSettings.ini is present on your install.

Linux
<SteamLibrary>/steamapps/compatdata/736220/pfx/

Steam Play prefix for app ID 736220 (store URL still says Post_Scriptum). The LocalAppData tree above is mirrored inside the prefix. Search the prefix for PostScriptum rather than Squad44.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no Squad44 folder in LocalAppData?

The December 2023 rename changed the display name only. Folders kept PostScriptum across Steam, the install dir and AppData. Look for PostScriptum instead, and expect the same split after every reinstall.

Where is the Squad 44 config file?

In Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor under the PostScriptum LocalAppData folder. Input.ini and GameUserSettings.ini hold binds and graphics. Edit with the game closed and keep a copy, since malformed edits reset without warning.

Does copying the folder move my progress?

It moves settings only. Stats and unlocks live on the servers under your account. Copy the PostScriptum tree for keybinds and graphics, then sign in on the new machine for the rest.
