Where Does Blokada Store Settings and Lists?

Blokada 5 keeps settings in /data/data/org.blokada.alarm. Blokada 6 Cloud stores almost everything server side.

Last updated

Blokada has two products under one name and they store data in different places. Version 5 filters locally with lists in its sandbox. Version 6 and Cloud push filtering server side behind your account.

Check which one you run before following any path. Sandbox folders apply to v5. Cloud users migrate by logging in, since the phone holds almost nothing worth copying.

Android
/data/data/org.blokada.alarm (Blokada 5)

v5 local engine data: lists, rules, stats. Needs root to browse. v6 Cloud users ignore this path and use the account dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Blokada to a new phone?

Use in-app backup on v5, or your Cloud dashboard on v6. Sandbox copies need root and fail across installs. Write down which version you run before migrating.

Blokada 5 versus 6: what differs for data?

Blokada 5 filters on device with local lists. Blokada 6 routes DNS through Cloud servers tied to your account. The data location differs completely between them.

Why do Blokada guides disagree?

The engine changed. v5 keeps blocklists on the phone, v6 keeps your profile in the Cloud account. Old file-based guides apply to v5 only.
