Where Does Bonelab Store Mods?
Bonelab mods folders on Windows, the LocalLow Mods tree for content plus MelonLoader code mods explained.
Last updated
Bonelab splits mods in two. Content like avatars and maps goes in %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Stress Level Zero/BONELAB/Mods. Each mod keeps its author dotted folder name inside.
Code mods run on MelonLoader inside the install folder instead. Thunderstore and mod.io both feed the content tree. A symlink can relocate Mods to another drive when C fills up, per community guides. Never rename author folders. Quest builds read Android data paths with the same Mods name attached throughout each install.
Where Bonelab stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stress Level Zero\BONELAB\Mods
Content mods in LocalLow Mods with author folder names. Code mods via MelonLoader in the install. Keep the two trees apart.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install a Bonelab avatar or map?
Unzip the download and copy the author folder into LocalLow/Stress Level Zero/BONELAB/Mods. Folder names carry author dots, so keep them intact. Mod.io subscriptions arrive here automatically after enabling in game.
What is the difference between Mods and code mods?
Code mods use MelonLoader in the game folder instead of the Mods tree. Content mods use the Mods tree. Mixing the two locations is the most common install mistake.
