Where Does Castro Store Podcast Downloads?

Castro keeps queued episodes in its iOS app container, with a storage screen under Settings User Data for review.

Last updated

Castro runs on inbox and queue logic. New episodes land in the inbox as listings. Only queued episodes download for offline playback. That split explains most storage surprises: a long inbox is nearly free, while a long queue costs real gigabytes.

Files live in the iOS app container, never in Files. Audit usage from the storage page under Settings User Data. Sideloaded audio arrives through iCloud Drive, but Castro still copies it into its container before playback.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see what Castro stores on my iPhone?

Open Settings, then User Data, then Storage. That page lists everything Castro holds on disk. Shorten the queue and cap per podcast episode limits to stay small.

Do I need to download episodes by hand?

Add episodes to the queue. Queued items download automatically on Wi-Fi. Inbox listings cost almost nothing until you queue them.

Where do I put my own audio files?

Drop the audio into iCloud Drive and import it through sideloading. Castro copies it into its own container where it plays like any episode.
