Where Does Overcast Store Downloaded Episodes?
Overcast stores episodes in its iOS app container, with download limits and cleanup handled in Settings under Manage Storage.

Overcast is iPhone and iPad only, so every file lives in the iOS app container. There is no user facing folder of MP3s to browse. The app splits usage into downloaded episodes, images, and podcast data, all visible in its own storage screen.
The iOS Settings storage number and the in-app number often disagree. iOS can hold on to deleted media until the system reclaims it. When the gap is large, the reliable fix is offloading the app and reinstalling rather than deleting episodes one by one.
Where Overcast stores this, by platform
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
Sandboxed container with a per install guid. Reach downloads through the app Downloads screen or Settings General iPhone Storage Overcast. Finder backups include it.
Frequently asked questions
Overcast is using gigabytes. How do I shrink it?
Open the cog, then Manage Storage and Download settings. Lower per podcast episode limits and turn on deletion after finishing to stop the total from growing again.
Should I offload or delete the app to reclaim space?
Offload first. That keeps data while freeing the binary. If the number stays high after offload, delete and reinstall, then sign back in so playlists resync.
Does an Overcast account sync downloads?
Yes when you create a login. Playlists and progress sync between devices. Downloaded audio stays per device, so a new phone still fetches episode files fresh.
