Where Does Corsair iCUE Store Profiles?

iCUE profile database and automatic backup folders on Windows and Mac, plus the export flow for migration.

Last updated

Corsair iCUE keeps its live profile database in Roaming AppData on Windows and Application Support on macOS. The folder name tracks the major version, CUE5 for current builds, with older CUE and CUE4 folders left behind by upgrades. iCUE also writes automatic profile backups before updates.

Version folders are the main source of confusion. A fresh iCUE 5 install will not read a stale CUE4 folder, so leftover directories from years ago look like missing profiles. Export to .cueprofile for anything you want to keep, and treat folder copies as a rescue option for installs that no longer launch.

Where Corsair iCUE stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Corsair\CUE5

Older installs use Corsair\CUE or Corsair\CUE4 in the same parent. Automatic pre update backups land in %APPDATA%\Corsair\CUE Backup. Quit iCUE from the tray before restoring any folder copy.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Corsair

Mirrors the Windows layout, including the CUE Backup folder for automatic pre update copies. The supported migration route is still profile export to .cueprofile, which is cross platform.

Frequently asked questions

how do i back up icue profiles for a new pc

Use the Import and Export button in the profile list to save .cueprofile files anywhere you like. Those files import cleanly on other machines, unlike raw folder copies tied to specific hardware.

i reinstalled icue and my profiles are gone

Reinstalling wipes them unless exported, so export first. If you already reinstalled, check %APPDATA%\Corsair\CUE Backup for the automatic pre update backup iCUE writes during installation.
