Where Does NZXT CAM Store Profiles and Logs?
NZXT CAM keeps profiles and logs in Roaming NZXT CAM on Windows, with versioned backups under DataStorage. Deleting it resets the app.
Last updated
CAM is Windows-only and Electron-based, so its data folder mixes real settings with browser bulk. The real parts are settings.json, migration.json and the versioned DataStorage backups. Everything named Cache, GPUCache, IndexedDB or Crashpad is filler.
Support triages from Logs plus DataStorage, which tells you what to attach to a ticket. For a clean reset, renaming the whole Roaming folder beats uninstalling. The installer in Program Files stays put while your state rebuilds from scratch.
Where NZXT CAM stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\NZXT CAM
Profiles, settings.json, migration.json, versioned DataStorage backups and the Logs folder with main.log and cam.log. Quit CAM fully before copying. Cache, GPUCache and IndexedDB subfolders are disposable Electron bulk.
C:\Program Files\NZXT CAM
Install location with NZXT CAM.exe plus the unpacked cam_helper binary under resources. The updater stages separately under %LOCALAPPDATA%\nzxt cam-updater. Reinstalling here never touches your Roaming profiles.
Frequently asked questions
How do I migrate NZXT CAM profiles to a new PC?
Copy settings.json, migration.json and the DataStorage folder with CAM fully quit. That trio carries your profiles and versioned backups such as DataStorage\4.75.7. The Cache and GPUCache folders next door are disposable and only bloat the copy.
How do I fully reset NZXT CAM?
Rename %APPDATA%\NZXT CAM to NZXT CAM.old and launch the app. It rebuilds a clean folder on start. If the fresh instance works, your old profiles are still in the renamed copy under DataStorage for selective restore.
Where are NZXT CAM logs for a support ticket?
Open %APPDATA%\NZXT CAM\Logs and grab main.log plus cam.log and any cam_helper logs. Support asks for those with DataStorage when diagnosing cooling or lighting faults. Renderer logs beside them cover overlay glitches.
