Where Does CPod Store Podcasts and Settings?

CPod keeps subscriptions and downloads in Electron app data folders on desktop operating systems.

Last updated

CPod holds subscriptions, episode progress, and downloaded audio under its Electron userData folder per OS. That tree is the local backup unit, including playback speed and sleep timer prefs. gpodder.net sync users rebuild from the network instead.

OPML export moves subscriptions to any player. Downloads need redownloading elsewhere since paths embed the old machine. Copy the userData folder with CPod closed for exact restores.

Where CPod stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Roaming\CPod

Subscriptions, progress, and audio cache. Export OPML as the portable spare. Copy whole folder for full restores.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/CPod

Same layout as Windows. Download folder setting may point outside, so keep that path stable across machines.

Linux
~/.config/CPod

Same content under XDG config. Snap builds remap into their own data trees, so check those paths first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move CPod subscriptions?

Export OPML from settings and import it anywhere. History and progress need the userData folder copy on matching CPod versions.

Where are CPod downloads?

Under the download folder set in preferences, defaulting inside userData. Point the new install at the same path before importing.
