Where Does Fluent Reader Store Feeds and Cache?
Fluent Reader keeps feeds and cache in Electron app data folders on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Last updated
Fluent Reader holds subscriptions, read state, and fetched articles in its Electron userData folder per OS. That folder is the whole local story, including sync schedules and notification prefs. Fever and FreshRSS users sync through those services instead.
OPML export carries subscriptions anywhere. Article cache does not transfer usefully, so fresh installs refetch. Copy the userData tree with the app closed for full fidelity moves.
Where Fluent Reader stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Roaming\Fluent Reader
Feeds, read state, and cache. Export OPML from settings as the portable backup. Copy whole folder for exact restores.
~/Library/Application Support/Fluent Reader
Same layout as Windows. Library is hidden in Finder. Third party sync accounts reconnect after migration.
~/.config/Fluent Reader
Same userData content under XDG config. Snap and Flatpak builds remap it into their own data trees, so check those first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Fluent Reader feeds?
Export OPML and import it on the new machine. That covers subscriptions. Read history needs the full userData folder copy instead.
Where is the Fluent Reader cache?
Inside the same userData folder per OS. Clearing it forces refetch without losing subscriptions. Back up OPML before wiping.
