Where Does Cromite Store Data on Android?
Cromite keeps its profile in private app storage on Android, with downloads in the shared Download folder by default.
Last updated
Cromite follows the Chromium layout on Android. The running profile with history, cookies and logins sits in private app storage that only the app (or root) can read. What you can reach in a file manager is the download side.
Downloads default to the shared Download folder and you can change the target under Settings, then Downloads. If a file is missing, check that setting first. The exact download subfolder can differ between Cromite versions, so trust the path shown in Settings over memory.
Where Cromite stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Download
Default target for saved files, changeable under Settings then Downloads. Move or copy files out before clearing app data, since clearing wipes the private profile but leaves this folder alone.
/data/data/org.cromite.cromite
Live profile with history, cookies and sessions. Android hides this tree from file managers, so it is only reachable with root. Back up bookmarks through the app rather than copying this folder.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my Cromite downloads on Android?
Open Settings, then Downloads, and read the download location row. The default is the shared Download folder. Files you saved before changing it stay in the old folder, so check both places when hunting a missing file.
Why is there no Cromite folder I can open?
The live profile sits in Cromite's private app directory, which Android keeps hidden from file managers. Without root you cannot browse it directly. Export bookmarks through Settings and copy downloads out of the shared folder instead.
