Where Are Cronos: The New Dawn Save Files Located?

Cronos: The New Dawn's SaveGames folder on Windows and Linux, including the Steam ID subfolder.

Last updated

Cronos: The New Dawn uses the classic Unreal layout with saves under a Cronos folder in local AppData. Inside SaveGames sits one folder per Steam account, named with your numeric 64 bit ID, and the actual run files live below that.

Config sits nearby under Cronos/Saved/Config/Windows, so graphics tweaks and progress stay separate. The Linux build mirrors the same tail under its own config root instead of a Proton prefix.

Where Cronos: The New Dawn stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Cronos\Saved\SaveGames\[SteamID]

[SteamID] is your numeric Steam account folder. Back up the whole SaveGames tree with the game closed. Each slot writes its own files below the ID folder.

Linux
~/.config/Epic/Cronos/Saved/SaveGames

Native Linux path using XDG config home. If XDG_CONFIG_HOME is set elsewhere, the Epic/Cronos/Saved/SaveGames tail below it stays the same.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install a downloaded Cronos save for NG+?

Launch once so your own Steam ID folder exists, close the game, then copy the downloaded ID folder contents into SaveGames. Keep a copy of your own folder first since versions can disagree.

Where is the config file for disabling film grain?

Under Cronos/Saved/Config/Windows/Engine.ini. Add the SystemSettings lines there. Leave SaveGames alone when you only want to change visuals.
