Where Are Crypt Custodian Saves Located?

Crypt Custodian stores saves in Unity LocalLow on Windows and Application Support on Mac. Linux follows XDG data.

Last updated

Crypt Custodian is a Unity game, so Windows saves live in LocalLow under the developer folder. Look for a Kyle Thompson or Top Hat Studios folder with Crypt Custodian inside. That folder holds the actual save data loaded at startup.

Mac builds place the same data in Application Support. Linux builds use the XDG data path with a lowercase folder name. Proton installs mirror the Windows LocalLow path inside the prefix. Copy the full folder for backup, and keep the same spelling on restore so Unity finds it again.

Where Crypt Custodian stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Kyle Thompson\Crypt Custodian

Unity LocalLow save folder. Developer folder name can appear as Kyle Thompson. Check dates after saving to confirm the right subfolder.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/com.tophatstudios.cryptcustodian

Native Mac save location. Created after the first save. Use Go to Folder in Finder since Library is hidden.

Linux
~/.local/share/Crypt Custodian

Native Linux data folder. Proton builds instead mirror the Windows LocalLow path inside compatdata. Check the prefix if this folder is empty.
