Where Are Deadlock Replays Stored?

Deadlock replay folder on Windows, the citadel replays path under the Steam install, and the missing folder fix.

Last updated

Deadlock stores downloaded replays inside its install tree, not in Documents. Players report the path as Steam/steamapps/common/Deadlock/game/citadel/replays. Files arrive as .dem downloads tied to match IDs.

The folder sometimes goes missing. If downloads fail with a replay manager error, check that the replays folder exists and create it by hand. Do not download while queued, since that breaks the fetch. Archived .dem files copy out cleanly for review. Clear old files when the drive fills up.

Where Deadlock stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deadlock\game\citadel\replays

Install tree replays, not Documents. Create the folder by hand if downloads error. Match progress itself stays server side.

Frequently asked questions

Replay downloads fail with a creation error. What fixes it?

Create a folder named replays inside game/citadel and try the download again. A broken symlink or a missing folder causes the creation failure error. Delete the broken link first on Linux.

How do I find an older match replay?

Search your match ID in game instead of browsing files. The client lists downloadable matches that way. Downloaded files land as .dem in the replays folder.
