Where Are Deltarune Save Files Located?
Deltarune files each chapter's saves separately in a DELTARUNE folder under AppData Local, three slots per chapter.

Deltarune numbers its saves by chapter first and slot second. Files named filech1_0 through filech1_2 belong to Chapter 1, filech2_0 onward to Chapter 2, all in one AppData folder.
This layout is what makes the episodic releases work. Each new chapter reads the completion files of the previous ones from the same directory to carry choices forward. Backing up the whole folder before a new chapter drops is cheap insurance for years of decisions.

filechN_M files are chapter N, slot M. Completion data sits beside them, which later chapters read to import your choices.
Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer saves between PCs?
Yes, with the same chapter installed. Copy the filechN files to the matching folder on the new PC. Completion files carry over too, so the next chapter unlocks without replaying.
Do all chapters share one save list?
No. The chapters share one folder but read only their own files, so a Chapter 1 file never appears in the Chapter 4 menu. Finish each chapter's story in its own slot list.
