Where Does Demonologist Store Saves and Config?

Where Demonologist splits its Unity save data files and encrypted config across two folders on PC.

Last updated

Demonologist keeps two trees: Unity player data at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Clock Wizard Games\Demonologist, and encrypted config at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Shivers\Saved\SaveGames\PlayerAssetsRelease. Shivers is the internal project name.

The split confuses backups that grab only one folder. Progress lives in the first tree, settings in the second, and the config file is encrypted against editing. Copy both trees with the game closed and the whole state moves. Menus are the only editor for PlayerAssetsRelease.

Where Demonologist stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Clock Wizard Games\Demonologist

Unity saves and player data here; search for Clock Wizard Games, not the title. Paste the path into Explorer. The folder is small, so dated copies are cheap insurance before patches.

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Shivers\Saved\SaveGames

Encrypted graphics and account config here under the Shivers codename. Copy it alongside the Unity tree for a complete move. Never hand edit; use the in game menus and let them rewrite it.

Frequently asked questions

how do i back up demonologist data

Copy %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Clock Wizard Games\Demonologist to the same path with the game closed. That tree holds the Unity player data. The encrypted config under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Shivers travels separately for settings. Steam Cloud may mirror parts of both.

which demonologist folder holds saves

Saves and progression in the Clock Wizard Games tree, graphics and account config encrypted in the Shivers tree. Back up the first for progress and the second for settings. Deleting only Shivers resets options without touching a single unlock.

can i edit the demonologist config file

It is encrypted and not editable; treat it as opaque. Hand edits corrupt it and force a settings reset. All legitimate tweaks happen in the in game menus, which rewrite the file cleanly.
