Downie is sandboxed, so its app data sits in its Containers folder with preferences and history inside, while the download destination is a plain setting pointing wherever you chose. History cleanup rules live in settings too.
Do not confuse it with the unrelated downie CLI tool that uses a YAML config. For the Mac app, the Settings window is the source of truth for folders, and iCloud handles history across your own machines.
