Drop Duchy is an Unreal Engine game, and its saves follow the engine layout: a DropDuchy folder inside Local AppData with a Saved tree under it. Progress sits in per-SteamID subfolders with a backup folder beside them.
Steam Cloud syncs that tree, which helps across machines but fights manual restores. Pause Cloud before swapping files in, or Steam will happily overwrite your transplant with the older synced copy. The in-game backup folder is your safety net either way.
