Where Does Edison Mail Store Data on Mobile?
Edison Mail app data and cache on Android and iOS, plus where backups and smart folders live.
Last updated
Edison Mail keeps accounts, cached messages and smart folder indexes in private app storage. Mail bodies sync from providers; the phone holds a window for offline reading.
There is no user folder to browse. Backup means using the in app export or the OS backup. Clearing cache signs you out locally but never deletes server mail.
Where Edison Mail stores this, by platform
/data/data/com.edisonmail.email/
Private app sandbox (needs root to browse). Usable backup is Settings > Export plus Android system backup. Clear cache in App info to fix stuck sync; accounts restore on login.
~/Library/Application Support/EdisonMail/
App container, not browsable without jailbreak. Use iCloud device backup for migration. Offload in iPhone Storage keeps accounts; Delete removes local cache only, server mail stays.
Frequently asked questions
Does deleting Edison Mail delete my emails?
No. Providers hold the messages and Edison servers hold smart views. The phone only caches recent mail. Reinstall and log in to pull everything back.
How do I fix Edison Mail stuck syncing?
Force stop, clear cache in Android App info or offload on iOS, then reopen on WiFi. If folders still stall, remove and readd the account. Check provider IMAP limits before wiping.
