Where Are Endless Legend Save Files Located?
Endless Legend keeps zipped saves in Documents with Registry.xml beside them. Windows, Mac and Proton paths.
Last updated
Endless Legend keeps saves in Documents in a folder of its own. Each save is a zip file, one per campaign, sitting in a Save Files folder. Config lives nearby: a Users directory holds one numbered profile folder with Registry.xml for options.
Steam Cloud mirrors the tree, which causes the classic annoyance of deleted saves returning from the cloud. Disable Cloud before pruning old campaigns. macOS builds use Application Support instead of Documents with the same interior. The userdata mirror under app ID 289130 is the cloud copy, not the live folder.
Where Endless Legend stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Endless Legend\Save Files
One zip per campaign. Config in Documents\Endless Legend\Users\<id>\Registry.xml. Cloud mirror under userdata/<user-id>/289130. Disable Steam Cloud before deleting old saves or they restore themselves.
~/Library/Application Support/Endless Legend/Save Files
Same interior layout as Windows with zipped saves and a Users profile tree. Cloud sync applies the same way. Check both this path and Documents when an old install looks empty.
<SteamLibrary>/steamapps/compatdata/289130/pfx/
Steam Play prefix for app ID 289130. The Documents tree above is mirrored inside the prefix. Native builds are long gone, so Proton is the current Linux route.
Frequently asked questions
Why do deleted Endless Legend saves come back?
Steam Cloud restores them from its mirror under userdata/289130. Turn off Cloud for the game first, delete the zips from Save Files, then relaunch once before re-enabling Cloud with the cleaned set.
Where is the Endless Legend config file?
In Documents\Endless Legend\Users\<your-id>\Registry.xml beside the Save Files folder. It holds graphics, audio and profile options. Copy it with saves for a full settings transfer.
Can I move Endless Legend saves to Mac?
Yes. Copy the zip files into the Mac Save Files path under Application Support. The format is identical across stores. Bring Registry.xml too when options matter, though keybinds may need a reset.
