Where Are Evil Dead: The Game Save Files Located?

Evil Dead saves to an EvilDead LocalAppData folder with an always-online account behind it.

Last updated

Evil Dead: The Game needs a constant connection, so characters, levels, and unlocks live on Saber servers. Your disk holds settings only, in an EvilDead folder under LocalAppData.

That split decides the backup strategy. There is no survivor file to copy, and reinstalling loses nothing but options. Copy the Config folder when migrating machines to skip the settings screens, and leave the rest to the account.

Where Evil Dead: The Game stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\EvilDead\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Graphics and key settings (WindowsNoEditor). Characters and unlocks are server-side, so this folder is the only thing worth copying.

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\EvilDead\Saved\SaveGames

Local settings bundle for the always-online game. Copy with the game closed; progression follows the account regardless.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1493750/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 1493750). The EvilDead tree appears inside the prefix; progression stays server-side either way.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my survivors if I reinstall?

Characters, levels, and unlocks return on login. Only graphics and key settings stay behind, so screenshot the settings pages before wiping.
