Where Does Firefox Focus Store Local Data?
Where Firefox Focus keeps its private browsing data on Android and iOS, and why there is no desktop-style profile.
Last updated
Firefox Focus is built to forget, so it keeps everything inside its private app sandbox and offers no account sync to lean on. On Android that means the package directory for Focus, or the Klar variant in regions where the app ships under that name.
There is no profile folder to browse like desktop Firefox has. Root access aside, the realistic controls are the in-app Erase button and the system app storage screen, which is exactly the point of a browser designed to leave nothing behind.
Where Firefox Focus stores this, by platform
/data/data/org.mozilla.focus/
Private sandbox; root is required to browse it. The Klar builds use /data/data/org.mozilla.klar/ instead. For everyday use, clear data with the in-app Erase button or Android Settings > Apps > Focus > Storage.
App sandbox container (no user-accessible path)
iOS sandboxes Focus with no browsable file path. Manage it through the app's Erase control or iOS Settings > Focus. There is no sync account holding a second copy.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the Firefox Focus profile folder?
There is none. Focus keeps data in its private sandbox (/data/data/org.mozilla.focus/ on Android) with no desktop-style profile directory to open.
What is the difference between Focus and Klar data?
Only the package name: org.mozilla.focus versus org.mozilla.klar. Both behave identically and store data in their own sandbox.
