Where Does FitNotes Store Workout Data?

FitNotes keeps workout history in a private database on Android, with manual backups exported to a folder you choose.

Last updated

FitNotes stores every logged set in a private app database: exercises, routines, body measurements, and history. Nothing leaves the phone unless you export it.

The Backup feature writes a dated archive to a folder you pick in shared storage. That file plus its folder is the entire migration story. Copy it off-phone too, since local backups die with lost devices. Calendar sync covers dates, never your lifts.

Live database is private. Dated backup archives go to your chosen shared folder; copy that folder off-phone for real safety. Restore from the same screen.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move FitNotes history to a new phone?

Run Backup in FitNotes settings to write a dated file into your chosen folder, copy it to the new phone, then Restore from that file. Cloud apps do not see this data otherwise.

Does FitNotes back up automatically?

Set the backup folder in settings to shared storage and export regularly. Automatic backups only run when enabled, so check the folder actually gains files.
