Where Does Flowise Store Flows and Credentials?

Flowise keeps flows and credentials in database.sqlite inside a .flowise folder in your home directory.

Last updated

Flowise defaults to SQLite, and the whole workspace is one file: database.sqlite inside a .flowise folder in your home directory. On Linux and macOS that is ~/.flowise; on Windows it is C:\Users\<you>\.flowise. Flows, credentials, users, and settings all live in that single file.

Set DATABASE_PATH to move it, which Docker users should do via a volume mount so recreating the container keeps history. MySQL and Postgres are supported for teams, but the file location question only matters for the default SQLite setup most solo users run.

Where Flowise stores this, by platform

Linux
~/.flowise

database.sqlite plus key files. Override with the DATABASE_PATH env var. Docker users should mount a volume here.

macOS
~/.flowise

Same single-file layout. Back up with Flowise stopped to avoid a half-written copy.

Windows
C:\Users\[username]\.flowise

Same database.sqlite layout under your profile. Dot folders are hidden in Explorer by default.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up my Flowise flows?

Stop Flowise, copy database.sqlite somewhere safe, and restart. Restoring is swapping the file back with Flowise stopped. Credential encryption keys travel with it, so keep the backup private.

I forgot my Flowise login. How do I reset it?

Delete database.sqlite (or move it aside) and start Flowise again. You get a fresh setup screen. Only do this when there is genuinely nothing to lose, since flows go with it.
