Where Is the Fnott Config File on Linux?
Fnott Wayland notification daemon INI config with user and system paths.
Last updated
Fnott keeps everything in one INI file. Dimensions, colors, borders and padding live at top level. Three urgency sections override per level below.
Lookup runs user config first, then system dirs. A single flag redirects to any path. That covers testing themes without touching the live file.
Where Fnott stores this, by platform
~/.config/fnott/fnott.ini
Single INI for dimensions, colors and urgency overrides. User path wins, then system dirs. Redirect with the config flag. Wayland and wlroots only.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Fnott?
Copy fnott.ini elsewhere with the daemon stopped. Restoring means putting it back and restarting to confirm sizes and colors. The man page names every key when rebuilding from scratch.
How do I use a custom config path?
Pass a custom path with the config flag at launch. The user file wins by default, then system dirs. A stale system file can surprise when the user copy goes missing.
