Where Does FreeCAD Store Macros?
FreeCAD macros live in a Macro folder beside the main config, one per OS profile path. Drop FCMacro files there to share them.

FreeCAD splits user data sensibly: settings in the config files, reusable scripts in a Macro folder next to them. Each downloaded macro is one FCMacro text file. Anything sitting in that folder shows up in the Macro menu.
Recorded macros land here too, which is why the folder fills up quietly. Name files clearly at creation, since macro1 through macro12 become a mystery within a month. The folder follows the OS profile location, so the path differs per platform but the habit stays the same.
Where FreeCAD stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\FreeCAD\Macro
Holds FCMacro text files that appear in the Macro menu. Recorded macros land here automatically. Point the macro path preference at a synced folder to share across machines.
~/Library/Application Support/FreeCAD/Macro
Same role as on Windows. Finder hides Library by default, so use Go to Folder to reach it.
~/.local/share/FreeCAD/Macro
XDG style user data path. Macros recorded or downloaded here work the same as on other platforms.
Frequently asked questions
How do I run a downloaded macro?
Open the Macro menu and run it from the list. Macros in this folder appear automatically. Point the macro path preference elsewhere only if you sync the folder across machines.
How do I move macros to another computer?
Copy the FCMacro file into this folder on the other machine. Macros are plain text, so they travel by email and version control without any export step.
