8BitDo profiles are firmware, not files. Button maps, stick curves, vibration, and macros save into the controller memory, around three groups per connection mode. Ultimate Software V2 is only the editor: it writes to the hardware and handles firmware updates.
The connection matters more than the menu. PC configuration needs a 2.4 GHz dongle or a cable; Bluetooth editing happens through the phone app. Export a mapping template from the app if you want to share it or move it between controllers. The desktop app own cache under AppData holds nothing worth backing up.
