Where Does GHex Store Settings?

GHex keeps preferences in dconf and GSettings, with no config files to copy by hand.

Last updated

GHex stores preferences in the GNOME settings database rather than dotfiles. Window state, offsets and display options live under its schema path in dconf.

Migration means dumping that branch, not copying files. The dconf dump command exports the settings to text that loads cleanly on the next machine.

Where GHex stores this, by platform

Linux
dconf://org/gnome/GHex
