Where Does GitAhead Store Settings?
GitAhead keeps settings, window layouts and recent repos in the platform config folder. Paths per OS and what to back up.
Last updated
GitAhead separates preferences from repositories. Editor fonts, diff options and recent repo lists live in a config tree under the app name. Clones live wherever git put them.
That split keeps reinstalls light. Clearing config forgets the recent list without touching a single commit. Copy the tree with the app quit and the whole workspace returns.

Frequently asked questions
How do I move GitAhead settings?
Copy the GitAhead config folder with the app quit. Settings and repo history travel with it. Repositories themselves stay in their working folders, so reopen them from disk after the move.
Where are my repositories?
In their own working folders wherever they were cloned, commonly Documents or a code folder. The config tree only references them. Check the recent list inside GitAhead for true repo paths.
